Victory for South Australians as Labor dumps Bank Tax

The Labor Party’s announcement today that they are finally dumping their State Bank Tax is a victory for South Australians.

“Today is a humiliating day for Jay Weatherill and Tom Koutsantonis, but a great day for South Australians with the dumping of the State Bank Tax,” said State Liberal Leader Steven Marshall.

“South Australians knew that they would end up paying for Labor’s massive new tax, and that’s why the Liberal Party stood up for South Australian households and businesses by opposing the State Bank Tax.

“Announcing this today under the cover of the same sex marriage plebiscite result is a deeply cynical move from an arrogant and desperate 16-year-old government.

“Straight after the last state election Labor massively increased the ESL without warning. It begs the question, what new and increased taxes are they planning to impose on South Australians this time?

“The upcoming state election is the most important in a generation and provides a clear choice – a Labor Party addicted to massive new taxes and increased taxes, or the Liberal Party which wants to lower taxes in order to grow our economy and create jobs.”
