The 2018-19 VACSWIM program will continue in South Australia this summer, as the State Government works with the Royal Life Saving Society of Australia to ensure the program is delivered.
“The State Government is working with all the parties involved in delivering the VACSWIM program, to ensure South Australian children can access this vitally important water safety program this summer,” said Minister for Recreation, Sport and Racing Corey Wingard.
“The 2018-19 VACSWIM program is being rolled out across South Australia, so it’s disappointing to see the Labor Opposition claiming that the program is under threat.
“The reality is that Surf Life Saving SA and the various other partners who deliver VACSWIM in metro Adelaide and parts of regional SA are in the process of taking bookings for this summer.
“Clearly the Royal Life Saving Society of Australia’s SA branch has some issues to deal with, but they along with the State Government and all parties are committed to providing SA children with access to the VACSWIM program.”
