The Liberal Party has today elected Georgina Downer as the Liberal candidate for Mayo to contest the next Federal Election.
Georgina was appointed at a preselection meeting held at Tatachilla today attended by about 400 Liberal Party members.
A former Australian Diplomat, lawyer and consultant, Georgina Downer is looking forward to continuing in the role as the Liberal party candidate for Mayo and talking to the people living in Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island about the things that matter to them.
“I am humbled to be chosen by the Liberal Party members in Mayo to be their candidate at the upcoming Federal Election,” Ms Downer said.
“The choice for people in Mayo at the next election will be whether they want the continuation of a Coalition Government led by Scott Morrison or a Shorten-led Labor Government. A choice between a strong economy for all or a high-taxing aspiration-sapping state run by vested interests.
“I will work tirelessly to ensure the people in Mayo have a strong voice in Canberra. My community is what matters and it deserves nothing but the best representation in Canberra.”
