Labor shows disrespect for heroes past and present

The Labor Opposition’s decision to prevent ministerial statements regarding the efforts of Dr Richard Harris in the successful rescue of the Wild Boars soccer team in Northern Thailand and the passing of Jonathon ‘Jack’ Tredrea a South Australian World War II veteran is nothing short of disgraceful.

“Preventing a tribute to these South Australian heroes is the most petty, demeaning behavior I have seen in my time in State Parliament,” said Deputy Premier Vickie Chapman.

“Labor Leader Peter Malinauskas needs to explain why he didn’t want the Parliament to hear a tribute to these great South Australians.

“Preventing the tributes to Richard Harris and Jack Tredrea was a woeful error of judgement by a rookie Opposition Leader who needs to reflect upon the gravity of his mistake.”
