Labor’s hollow promises for West Lakes

The State Liberals have warned voters not to believe the Weatherill Labor Government’s hollow promise to build a ‘Park and Ride’ style interchange at West Lakes.

“Before the last two elections the Weatherill Labor Government promised to build a tram line out to West Lakes and they’ve broken that promise,” said Shadow Minister for Transport and Infrastructure David Pisoni.

“In fact, before the last state election the Weatherill Labor Government ran taxpayer funded political advertising promising PortLink, EastLink, WestLink, ProspectLink, UnleyLink and CityLink as part of a 30-year transport plan.

“Mr Mullighan hasn’t delivered any of these projects in the last four years.

“The Labor Party is recycling broken election promises and thought bubbles in the absence of any real plans.

“The Labor Government hasn’t even managed to complete one kilometre of tram track down North Terrace and has a tram that can’t turn right!

“The Labor Party and Stephen Mullighan have been talking about a potential Park and Ride at West Lakes since 2014 and have never delivered it.

“Labor is obviously in a blind panic about losing the seat of Lee and in a bid to save Stephen Mullighan’s political career they’re recycling old promises.

“The people of the western suburbs have been ignored by this Labor Government for the last four years and now two minutes before the state election Labor is making hollow promises that they won’t deliver on – again.”
