David was elected as the Member for Bright in 2014 and brings to the role an exciting combination of grassroots community action, energy, new ideas and integrity. David was re-elected at the 2018 State Elections after the 2016 Boundary Redistribution which renamed his former seat of Bright to Black
David has professional experience in the public, private and not for-profit sectors, including as a national director of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and Deputy Mayor of the City of Marion.
David entered the South Australian parliament at age 29 and is the second youngest member of the House of Assembly. He was born in rural Scotland and moved to Adelaide's southern suburbs with his family when he was 17 years old. David loves spending time at his local beach, Brighton, where he volunteers as a surf life saver and is keen advocate for the people of Black.
