Community leader Carolyn Habib is your local Liberal candidate for the seat of Elder. With a long standing commitment to serving the community and a proven ability to deliver results at a local level, Carolyn is excited by the opportunity ahead to provide the strong representation Elder deserves.
Carolyn is passionate, energetic and has played a proactive role in positively shaping communities over the past decade. Her contribution and leadership in the community was first formally recognized in 2003 when she was awarded the Marion Young Citizen of the Year Award. She has over 13 years experience in the not for profit sector where she has devoted her career to serving and advocating for South Australia’s vulnerable and disadvantaged youth.
A former City of Marion Councillor, Carolyn has worked to address residents’ issues and deliver outcomes over many years. Locally, that means fighting to “Save the Repat” and preserve vital health care services for older people, veterans and our southern communities from Labor’s planned closure.
Carolyn is determined to deliver the Marshall Liberal Team’s GlobeLink plan that will see improved traffic conditions on local roads and property values potentially increase. By redirecting noisy freight trains away from residential communities, bottlenecks at level crossings such as the one on Cross Road will be limited. GlobeLink will also provide local businesses with the competitive advantage they need to grow and create jobs by getting premium products into international markets via a new freight-hub and airport at Monarto.
As a proud member of the Marshall Liberal Team, Carolyn will bring an exciting combination of grassroots community action, new perspective, fresh ideas and integrity to Elder.
