Board of SAMEAC appointed

The South Australian Government has announced appointments to the board of the South Australian Multicultural and Ethnic Affairs Commission (SAMEAC) for the period of 1 July 2018 until 30 June 2020.

Premier Steven Marshall congratulated incoming chair Mr Norman Schueler OAM and the eleven members who have been appointed to serve on this important board.

“My Assistant Minister, Jing Lee and I are delighted to announce the new appointees to the SAMEAC board,” said Premier Steven Marshall.

“Members, whose collective skills will assist in the work of SAMEAC, are representatives of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds from across South Australia and I look forward to working with them.

“I would like to congratulate incoming chair Mr Norman Schueler for his long-standing commitment to representing multicultural communities, in particular the Jewish community.

“The State Government looks forward to working closely with Mr Schueler in delivering greater community engagement, building a strong cohesive society, as well as celebrating the unique riches of our culturally diverse state.

“The State Government values the contributions and efforts of all outgoing SAMEAC members and looks forward to working with the new board in furthering our vision for multiculturalism in South Australia.”

SAMEAC is a Statutory Authority, which is established under the South Australian Multicultural and Ethnic Affairs Commission Act 1980. The long-term vision of the Commission is to increase awareness and understanding of South Australia’s ethnic diversity, as well as to advise the government on all matters relating to multiculturalism and ethnic affairs.
