Aspiring entrepreneurs can get a head start at Entrepreneurs Week 2018

More than 40 events supporting South Australia’s innovative entrepreneurs and start-ups kicks off today.

Minister for Industry and Skills David Pisoni officially launched Entrepreneurs Week this morning, now in its fourth year.

“This is a week dedicated to highlighting the importance of entrepreneurship in South Australia to provide growth and jobs in our economy,” said Minister Pisoni.

“The Marshall Liberal Government’s vision for innovation and entrepreneurship is about encouraging ideas and smart thinking, to make South Australia the leading state for start-up growth rates in the country.

“That’s why we are sponsoring the opening event on 9 July as well as the entrepreneurship ecosystem forum at UniSA.

“The opening event will also feature women entrepreneurs Life Whisperer co-founder Dr Michelle Perugini, rocket scientist Flavia Tata Nardini, co-founder of Fleet Technologies, Sarah Gun of GOGO Events and GOGO Labour Hire and Louise Nobes of KIK Innovation..

“Innovation and collaboration between government, business, entrepreneurs and the community is the key to unlocking the best South Australia has to offer.

“To make this happen, we have started working on a new innovation, incubator, start-up and growth hub to be established in the heritage buildings on the former RAH site, and the Open Day on Wednesday, 11 July will give the public a glimpse of what will be on offer at Australia’s first creation and innovation neighbourhood – Lot Fourteen.

“This hub will be an iconic and central world-class space for entrepreneurs to partner with industry, researchers, mentors, investors and business specialists to help grow their start-up or existing businesses.

“It is also fantastic to see university students curating events such as the Seed Round - a cross-university innovation challenge to tackle industry problems. Other events include the Techstars Basecamp series, a yoga networking event and the launch of a co-working space for SeniorPreneurs.”

Entrepreneurs Week, a collaboration between Brand South Australia, City of Adelaide and the State Government, runs from Monday 9 July - Friday 13 July.
