Stephen Wade MLC, LLB, B.Ec., worked in corporate governance and on a range of Boards before being appointed to the Legislative Council as a Liberal Party member in May 2006.

Stephen was Chair of Julia Farr Services Inc. (2003-2006), the largest disability service provider in South Australia (2003-2006), and was a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

In April 2007, within a year of entering Parliament, Stephen was appointed to the Shadow Ministry where he has served in a range of roles. As the Shadow Minister for Disability, Families and Communities, Housing and Social Inclusion, Stephen strongly argued for a client-centred approach to disability services and the Liberal Party released its individualised funding policy.

As the Shadow Minister for Correctional Services, he highlighted prison overcrowding and as the Shadow Minster for Water Security, he released a policy on securing the State’s water by diversifying supplies.

In April 2010, after the State election, he became the Shadow Attorney-General and Shadow Minister for Justice. In this role, he has been critical of the Rann Government’s focus on rhetoric rather than delivering real improvements to safety in South Australian communities.

He convenes the Policy Development Team of the Parliamentary Liberal Party.

Stephen lives in the Adelaide Hills and enjoys travel, bushwalking and movies.
