John Gardner
State Member for Morialta
Electorate Office Contact Details:
163 St Bernards Road
Rostrevor SA 5073
John Gardner lives in Rostrevor, in the heart of Morialta - the area he grew up in.
John worked in his family's small water treatment business while studying at the University of Adelaide. Since graduating, he has worked in policy areas of health (particularly illicit drug prevention and rehabilitation), and education.
John believes that water is the most important challenge facing the State and that the Rann Government and its MPs have badly let down South Australia over many years with their failure to invest in our water security and their handling of the Murray and Lower lakes issue. With first-hand knowledge of water treatment, John is a strong supporter of the Liberal Party’s policy to harness the stormwater that is washed out to sea each year, helping to reduce our reliance on the River Murray and secure Adelaide’s water supply.
John is a strong local advocate for an improved education system to help foster opportunities for our children.
John is also campaigning to have the Royal Adelaide Hospital extensively rebuilt on its present site which will save approximately $1,000 million compared to Labor’s plan to demolish the RAH and start from scratch at the old railyard site. Under the Liberal plan savings from rebuilding the RAH on its present site will be put into more hospital and health services across the State.
