David Pisoni was elected as the Member for Unley in 2006. David has lived in our local area for the past 16 years, after growing-up in Salisbury. He was educated at St Augustine’s Primary and Salisbury High School before undertaking a furnishing trades apprenticeship.
His cabinet-making abilities progressed to him becoming managing director of his own manufacturing/retail company between 1984 and 2006. David was a director of the National Furniture Association, president of the Unley Chamber of Commerce in 1995 and a member of the Unley Main Street Association.
Married with two school-age children, David is currently the shadow Minister for Education, Employment, Training and Further Education plus Early Childhood Development. David is also active in local education, where he is a member of both the Unley Primary and High Schools Councils.
His other interests include delivery duties for Meals on Wheels in the Unley area, being a member of the Broughton Art Society, the Friends of Unley Library and the Adelaide Parklands Preservation Association.
David Pisoni is a keen and enthusiastic MP, who is passionate about representing and working for his local community.
David has been at the forefront of the Liberal Party’s fight to save the Glenside Hospital to ensure the site is preserved to help those suffering mental illness and not as a film hub.
David is also campaigning hard for Isobel Redmond’s plan to rebuild the Royal Adelaide Hospital on its current site, rather than Mike Rann’s plan to bulldoze the RAH and start from scratch at the old railyard site. The Liberal plan will save approximately $1,000 million. Savings from the Liberal plan will be put into hospital and health services across the State.
