Train derailment report must be released
The Liberal Opposition has called on the State Government to immediately release the reason for a passenger train derailment in Adelaide this morning.
At around 8:30am a train full of commuters travelling in to the city began shaking violently and was stopped near the construction site of the new Royal Adelaide Hospital.
Shadow Minister for Transport, Vickie Chapman, said commuters are being significantly inconvenienced and the Government must release the reason for the derailment.
“Initial reports are that nobody was injured, which is a relief, but the Government must release the reason for the derailment as soon as they know what happened,” Ms Chapman said.
“People who travel on our public transport system need to be reassured the service is safe and reliable.”
