Job ads in SA continue to fall under Labor
Trend job ads in South Australia fell by 2.4 per cent in January 2012, according to ANZ Job statistics released today.
This was the largest fall of all states in Australia and compares to a 0.1 per cent increase nationally.
Over the last 12 months, trend job ads in SA have fallen by 19.4 per cent – the second largest fall of all states.
SA job ads now sit at half the levels experienced when Labor came to office in 2002.
Shadow Minister for Employment David Pisoni said employers were lacking the confidence to advertise and create new jobs under the Weatherill Labor Government.
“It is not surprising that job ads are falling in SA when we have the worst business confidence and the highest taxes in the nation,” Mr Pisoni said.
“South Australians who are looking for work are suffering at the hands of Labor’s economic mismanagement over the past 10 years.
“South Australians in Ramsay and Port Adelaide should not forget this when they go to the polls and vote on the 11th of February.”
