Elected to the House of Assembly in 2006, and elevated to the Shadow Cabinet in 2008, Adrian relishes the opportunity to represent the community of Hammond.

He is passionate about the diversity of people and produce available in the electorate, and believes in the future prospects of the region for tourism, employment, food production and desirable lifestyles.

Since becoming the Member for Hammond, Adrian has held the important Shadow portfolios of River Murray, Sustainability & Climate Change, Mineral Resources Development as well as Opposition Whip.

In 2010, he became the Shadow Minister for Agriculture, Food and Fisheries and Shadow Minister for Forests.

As a former farmer himself, Adrian managed a dryland and grazing enterprise for 14 years, he is well placed to understand and respond to the issues that really concern primary producers.

Issues he is currently challenging the Government on include - introduction of the Biosecurity Levy, management of the Broomrape Eradication Program, Marine Parks & recreational fishing licences.

He was a primary instigator in the establishment of a Parliamentary Select Committee in to Grain Handling and Storage in 2011, and remains a committee member. Adrian is actively opposed to the outrageous forward sale of Forests in the South East and continues to pursue the Government on this critical issue.

Adrian, his wife Sally and two young sons Mack and Angus, maintain residence on the family farm at Coomandook.

Adrian continues to be actively involved in his local community including as a CFS member amongst other interests.
