
Julian Sheezel, State Director
Julian was appointed State Director & Campaign Director of the Liberal Party of Australia (SA Division) in October 2009.
Liberal Party and Other Political Activities
Julian joined the Liberal Party in 1988 as a first year university student.
Whilst at university Julian actively promoted and campaigned for the Liberal Party on university campuses as a member of the Australian Liberal Students’ Federation and the Young Liberal Movement. He served as Chairman of the University of Queensland Union, President of the University of Queensland Liberal Club, and Federal President of the Australian Liberal Students’ Federation.
He is a life member of the Australian Liberal Students’ Federation and the Young Liberal Movement.
Following his return to Melbourne in 1993 Julian was active in the Liberal Party in Higgins where he was a long-serving Branch President. He also served as Chairman of the Victorian Division’s Constitutional Committee before being appointed State Director of the Victorian Division.
Julian served as State Director of the Liberal Party in Victoria from 2003 to 2008.
Professional Employment
Following graduation from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Commerce, Julian’s first professional position was as a researcher at investment bank J. T. Campbell & Co. He was then employed as a tax accountant with chartered accountants Ernst & Young and KPMG from 1994 to 2003. Before being appointed State Director of the Liberal Party in Victoria he was a Senior Taxation Manager with KPMG in Melbourne specialising in international taxation. From 1997 to 2001, Julian was employed by KPMG’s Hong Kong office as a Tax Manager. He was seconded to the firm’s Bangkok office for 12 months, from 1999 to 2000.
